Magenta Fruit Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its leaves)

This small fruit tree grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 27 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, curved trunk covered in paper-thin, wrinkled, burgundy and brown bark, and inside, the dense wood is gray.

The tangled mess of branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with copious amounts of small, stiff, pointed leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are either subtle green or cyan, with lilac zig-zags.

In early spring, it produces handfuls of tiny, cyan blossoms with oval-shaped shaped petals. They fall easily and have an intensely strong scent that smells like cotton.

In early summer it produces , circular fruit. The waxy peach skin is tough and inedible, and the soft magenta flesh is spicy and sour and very dry. The light grey seeds are large and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with patches of undergrowth between them.

It is suitable for use as a construction material
It has impressive regenerative properties.
