Brown Flame Moss

This dark brown moss is commonly found blanketing medium-sized areas In bogs.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches and they spread and grow quickly, and is overwhelmingly rigid.
When mature, emerald flame-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release thousands of spores.
