This brilliant yellow moss is commonly found blanketing tiny areas In rainy mountain ranges, In rainforests, and On trees.
It is big, growing up to 10 inches (25 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches and they are exceptionally hardy, and is slightly flimsy.
When mature, emerald cylindrical capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release hundred of spores; it can cause severe allergic reactions.

It is very rare outside of a particular area.
It out-competes most other plants for nutrients and light.
It comes in 57 varieties.
It is almost impossible to grow indoors.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
