Creamfruit Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 11 feet (3.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 45 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 84 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a branched, straight trunk covered in delicate, knobbly, black with white speckled bark, and inside, the light wood is light brown.

The numerous branches trail down across the ground and are covered with sparse amounts of huge, asymmetrical leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are aquamarine and cream.

In early spring, it produces large amounts of tiny, sky blue blossoms with broad, flat petals. They detach easily and have a weak scent that smells like bonfire smoke.

In early winter it produces tiny, circular fruit. The waxy beige skin is tough and edible when roasted; it is savoury, and the very soft washed-out red flesh is savoury and dry. The grey seeds are small and are bunched at the top of the fruit.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with clear space between them.

It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
