Knobbly Trailwood
Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)This modest-sized tree grows up to 46 meters (150.9 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 697 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a wide, slanted trunk covered in delicate, knobbly, dark gray bark, and inside, the very dense wood is pine-coloured.
The excessive amount of branches trail down to the ground and are covered with very large amounts of rough, large, pleated leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are solid bronze or cream, with pink patches.
In late summer it forms medium-sized, light purple aril (seeds with fleshy covers).
The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.
Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
It commonly grows in large patches.
