Blueberry Tree

This colossal fruit tree grows up to 54 feet (16.5 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 44 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a very thick, straight trunk covered in wrinkled, pine-coloured bark, and inside, the flexible wood is white.

The large clumps of branches are long and thin and are covered with small amounts of small, perforated leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are brilliant yellow at the bottom and sky blue with beige splotches at the top.

In early spring, it produces thick bunches of large, dark grey blossoms with heart-shaped shaped petals. They are sturdy and have a strong scent that smells like marzipan.

In mid-summer it produces , oblong fruit. The smooth subtle green skin is thin and inedible, and the crunchy ashy blue flesh is overwhelmingly bitter and dry. The cream seed is tiny and is in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
