Bluebell Succulent

This large leaf succulent grows up to 78 feet (23.8 meters) tall. The very thin stem is brown, and is covered in many flexible white spines. The knobbly leaves are either light purple or dull blue, with light grey dots. Copious amounts of them grow on very thick, green branches that trail down towards the ground. The leaves are frail, but take some effort to detach.

It is slow growing, taking 31 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, several flowers with purple petals and a lime central disk grow at the top, reappearing after 3 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is shaped like a bowl made up of 4 widely spaced, round-tipped petals. It has an intensely strong scent that smells like leather.

The leaf succulent's skin is thick, the beige flesh is rough, and the hazel sap is thin.
