Red Moss

This red moss is commonly found growing in giant clumps In bogs, In marshes, and On rotten logs.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches and they are slow to spread and grow, and is very flimsy.
When mature, emerald spiral capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early autumn to release millions of spores; it can cause severe allergic reactions.
