Caramel Spine Cactus

Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)

This small cactus grows up to 11 feet (3.4 meters) tall. It splits near the top to form 4 wide stems. Each stem is orange-yellow, and is covered in dozens of rigid caramel spines. The spherical body is yellow, and is covered in brittle yellow spines.

It is slow growing, taking 50 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, several flowers with solid violet petals decorated with dull orange dots and a brilliant purple central disk grow at the top, reappearing after 7 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is shaped like a dish with 37 tightly layered, narrow petals. It has a scent that varies in strength that smells like chocolate.

The cactus's skin is delicate, the indigo flesh is sticky, and the azure sap is thin.

Their seeds have hallucinogenic properties.
