Caramel Fruit Tree

This large fruit tree grows up to 28 feet (8.5 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 40 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a stocky, straight trunk covered in ridged, silver bark, and inside, the very dense wood is burgundy.

The sparse amount of branches are short stubs and are covered with copious amounts of small, slender, pointed leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are green and pink.

In early spring, it produces dozens of medium-sized, slate blossoms with triangular shaped petals. They are sturdy and have a weak scent that smells like coconut.

In late summer it produces , oval fruit. The leathery caramel skin is tough and sweet, and the soft olive flesh is salty and sticky. The brown seed is tiny and is in the centre of the fruit.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
