Emerald Spiral Moss

This lime green moss is commonly found growing in small clumps On rotten logs.
It is average-sized, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in thin clumps and they spread and grow quickly, and is slightly rigid.
When mature, emerald spiral capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-summer to release millions of spores; it can cause severe allergic reactions.
