Bluefruit Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This giant fruit tree grows up to 62 feet (18.9 meters) tall and lives for up to 25 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 39 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a branched, straight trunk covered in thick, wrinkled, yellow bark, and inside, the hard wood is mahogany-coloured.

The tangled mess of branches are very short and thin and are covered with very large amounts of giant, very narrow and elongated leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are olive with cyan tips.

In early spring, it produces hundreds of medium-sized, beige blossoms with sickle shaped petals with a tube-like floral cup. They detach easily and have an overpowering scent that smells like warm milk.

In late autumn it produces , oval fruit. The fuzzy grey skin is thick and inedible, and the soft light blue flesh is sweet and juicy. The dark grey seeds are tiny and are bunched at the bottom of the fruit.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with clear space between them.

It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
All parts of the shrub are edible.
Their seeds have hallucinogenic properties.
It is said to be the favourite flower of a legendary person.
