Coppervine

Climbing plant type: Bine (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This small bine is a fast growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 16 feet (4.9 meters) and growing as high as 829 feet (252.7 meters).

It takes 7 months for the copper or blue stems to mature, by which point they sometimes have a diameter of 3 cm (1.2 inches) and are rough and fibrous.

The wide, smooth leaves reach up to 5 inches (13 cm) in length. They are solid hazel with aquamarine lines, and have wavy edges.

During late spring, the bine produces thick bunches of average gold flowers, and during the early autumn, after flowering, it produces plenty of large seed pods.


It is suitable for making baskets and the like
every part of the flower is very toxic.
