Indigo Creeper
Climbing plant type: Creeper (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)This big creeper is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 249 feet (75.9 meters) and growing as high as 61 feet (18.6 meters). It prefers to grow on rock formations.
It takes 3 years for the blue stems to mature, by which point they have often fused together into ropes with a diameter of 10 inches (25 cm) and are smooth and woody.
The needle-like, fuzzy leaves reach up to 2.8 feet (86 cm) in length. They are red at the bottom and cyan with indigo patches at the top, and have smooth edges.
During late spring, the creeper produces several small sky blue flowers.
