Copper Succulent

This small cactus grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall. The asymmetrical stem is green and gray, and is dotted with small orange spines. The mushroom-shaped body is muted red or copper, and is covered in handfuls of flexible grey spines.

It is very slow growing, taking 35 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with purple petals that gradient shift to cream on the outer edge. The central disk is red, grow at the top, reappearing once every 2 years. The flower head is made up of handfuls of petals in raised layers. It has a weak scent that smells like new books.

The cactus's skin is rock-hard, the cream flesh is rubbery, and the turquoise sap is thin and causes vomiting if consumed.
