Copper

This small tree grows up to 4 meters (13.1 feet) tall and lives seemingly forever, with many known specimen being tens of thousands of years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a flexible, slanted trunk covered in thin, rough, brown-green speckled bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is mahogany-coloured.

The small bunches of branches are short, thin and wispy, covered with large amounts of large, copper needles. The needles themselves are delicate.

In late summer it produces small, cream aril (seeds with fleshy covers).

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
