Orange Trunk Succulent
Succulent type: Caudiciform (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This small caudiciform grows up to 11 feet (3.4 meters) tall. The sickle shaped stem is gray-green, and is covered in brittle white spines. The thick, orange trunk can grow to as much as 11 feet (3.4 meters) in diameter. Its lime green branches are short and thin.
The jagged-edged, stiff, pointed leaves are slate on the edges and azure at the center. They are tough, but are very difficult to pull away.
It is very fast growing, taking 10 months to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with alternating petals of dark grey and aquamarine, with a light brown central disk grow at the top, reappearing once every 4 years. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 39 curved petals. It has a fairly strong scent that smells like onion.
The caudiciform's skin is delicate, the black flesh is leathery, and the red sap is thin and can kill if consumed.
It coexists peacefully with other plants.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
