Grey Willow

Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This modest-sized shrub grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 198 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has dozens of slender, wavy stems covered in wrinkled, dark gray bark, and the wood inside is burgundy.

The branches are very long and thin with dozens of twigs that and are covered with very large amounts of giant, very narrow and elongated, leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are grey and beige, frail and covered in fine hairs.

It produces dozens of tiny, grey flowers with sickle shaped petals. They are sturdy and have a powerful scent that smells like candle wax. In midwinter it forms tinylight grey, tough-shelled seeds.


It is almost impossible to grow indoors.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
