Blue Spice??

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This big fruit tree grows up to 44 feet (13.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 35 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 62 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a very thick, crooked trunk covered in paper-thin, rough, brown and grey bark, and inside, the very hard wood is pale brown-grey.

The branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with small amounts of large, long, tapering leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are solid grey with caramel dots.

In early spring, it produces copious amounts of small, magenta blossoms with spear shaped petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are sturdy and have a weak scent that smells like vanilla.

In early autumn it produces , cuboid fruit. The crispy dark grey skin is peel-able and savoury, and the slightly crunchy bright blue flesh is spicy and powdery. The gold seeds are small and are located in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with grassy ground between them.

It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
