Burgundy moss

This burgundy moss is commonly found blanketing tiny areas In heathlands, and On trees.
It is short, growing up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. It forms in large clumps and they are slow to spread and grow, and is slightly flimsy.
When mature, emerald oblong capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early summer to release dozens of spores; it does not cause any allergic reactions.
