Yellowfruit Tree

This massive fruit tree grows up to 69 feet (21.0 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 49 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a stocky, crooked trunk covered in thin, knobbly, yellow bark, and inside, the very dense wood is brown.

The branches are very long and thick and are covered with very large amounts of huge, wispy leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are brilliant green with orange tips.

In early spring, it produces thousands of small, magenta blossoms with kidney-shaped shaped petals. They fall easily and have an intense scent that smells like an ocean breeze.

In late summer it produces small, 6 pointed fruit. The hairy brown skin is tough and edible when cooked; it is sweet, and the crunchy amber flesh is salty and sour and sticky. The hazel seed is very large and sits at the top of the fruit.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with clear space between them.
