Grass type: Biennial (Stores water in its leaves)This average-sized, gray-green grass grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall. The needle-like stalks grow in small clumps that are resistant and they are exceptionally hardy.
When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a small, dark red spikelet.
During the early autumn, it produces an average amount of pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with a few tiny grains.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
It can survive a very long time without water.
