Magenta

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This short fruit tree grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall and lives for up to 10 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 27 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a sturdy, wavy trunk covered in hard, smooth, black with white speckled bark, and inside, the very light wood is brown.

The sparse amount of branches are short stubs and are covered with small bunches of giant, long, narrow leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are magenta on the sides and violet at the center.

In early spring, it produces a thick sheet of giant, beige blossoms with long, narrow petals. They detach easily and have a powerful scent that smells like a man.

In early summer it produces , oval fruit. The crispy lilac skin is tough and sweet and salty, and the slightly crunchy magenta flesh is spicy and sour and sticky. The pastel yellow seed is very large and is in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
