Coilvine

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This colossal fruit tree grows up to 69 feet (21.0 meters) tall and lives for up to 25 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 37 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, slanted trunk covered in ridged, copper-coloured bark, and inside, the soft wood is pale brown.

The small handful of branches are very short and thin and are covered with thick bunches of giant, needle-like leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are vivid yellow and black.

In early spring, it produces lots of giant, cyan blossoms with perforated petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They detach easily and have an overpowering scent that smells like petrol.

In mid-autumn it produces , circular fruit. The fuzzy cream skin is peel-able and sour, and the crunchy silver flesh is salty and syrupy. The caramel seed is very large and sits at the end of the fruit.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
