Flame Moss

This orange-yellow moss is commonly found growing in large clumps In damp forests, On rotten logs, and In rainforests.
It is huge, growing up to 1.4 feet (43 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches, and is very rigid; it dislikes being stepped on.
When mature, emerald flame-shaped capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-summer to release thousands of spores.
