Cyanvine

Shrub type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This average-sized shrub grows up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 110 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has numerous sturdy, slanted stems covered in thin, waxy, dark green bark, and the wood inside is pale yellow.

The branches are tall, rigid and upright with dozens of twigs that and are covered with thick bunches of large, long, tapering, leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are olive on the sides and cyan at the center, delicate and rough.

In late summer it produces thousands of small, crimson blossoms with asymmetrical petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are hardy and have a delicate scent that smells like rotten meat.

In early winter small wide fruits ripen. The soft slate skin is peel-able and inedible, and the crunchy olive flesh is sour and very dry. The brown seed is large and sits at the top of the fruit.

Several parts of the vine have medicinal properties.
It aggressively steals nutrients from other large plants (but not each other).
The sap is lilac.
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
