Redspine

This average-sized caudiciform grows up to 13 feet (4.0 meters) tall. The wide stem is red, and is covered in lots of rigid bronze spines. The stocky, lime trunk can grow to as much as 13 feet (4.0 meters) in diameter. Its purple branches are short, rigid and upright.

The ripped-edged, fan-like leaves are grey with aquamarine tips. They are flimsy, and do not detach easily.

It is very fast growing, taking 4 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with petals that are white on the underside and lime on the top grows at the top, reappearing once every 7 years. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 30 petals. It has a powerful scent that smells like musk.

The caudiciform's skin is rock-hard, the red flesh is leathery, and the ashy red sap is thin.
