Caramelvine

Shrub type: Coniferous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 26 years. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has several flexible, crooked stems covered in waxy, yellow-brown bark, and the wood inside is pale brown.

The branches are short and thin with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with small bunches of large, wide, leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are solid caramel with blue lines, resilient and smooth.

In mid-summer it produces many medium-sized, blood red flowers with triangular shaped petals. They are hardy and have a weak scent that smells like fresh linen.

It spreads easily and often blanket large areas.
It is difficult to kill and will quickly regrow if cut.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
