Rainbow Succulent

This short leaf succulent grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall. The needle-like stem is yellow or crimson, and is covered in lots of flexible subtle orange spines. The serrated-edged, long, tapering leaves are pink and blue. Small bunches of them grow from the base in alternating pairs. The leaves are delicate, but take some effort to detach.

It is slow growing, taking 8 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a handful of flowers, with petals that are magenta on the edges and subtle blue at the center, grow at the top, reappearing after 4 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is largely flat with handfuls of raised narrow petals. It has the faintest scent that smells like faeces.

The leaf succulent's skin is thin, the cyan flesh is smooth, and the indigo sap is thin.
