Turquoise
Flower type: Biennial (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This giant flower grows up to 13.9 feet (4.2 meters) tall. Its turquoise stems grow in bunches of 5 and are thick with a curved tip, and the tiny, red leaves are thick with toothed edges. The leaves grow in pairs along the length of the stem.
2 to 7 giant flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 35 cm (13.8 inches) wide, with alternating petals of peach and purple, with a white central disk. The flower head is largely flat with 35 raised round-tipped petals. They are hardy.
It has a delicate scent that smells like rotten meat, and it has very little pollen; it can cause allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects and is particularly attractive to bees.
It is excellent at collecting and storing carbon dioxide
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
