Silverwave

Flower type: Biennial (Stores water in its leaves)

This modest-sized flower grows up to 1.1 feet (33 cm) tall. Its gray stems grow in bunches of 8 and are very thick and straight, and the small, silver leaves are finger-like with wavy edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

Two large flowers sit at the end of the stem. The flowers are 47 cm (18.5 inches) wide, with petals that are either peach or turquoise, with a yellow center. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 10 curved petals. They detach easily.

It has a delicate scent that smells like an ocean breeze, and it has an average amount of pollen. It is pollinated by the wind, but is also particularly attractive to butterflies.
