Crimson Moss

This pink-red moss is commonly found blanketing medium-sized areas In heathlands, and In rainy mountain ranges.
It is short, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in thin clumps, and is overwhelmingly rigid; it dislikes being stepped on.
When mature, emerald oval-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-summer to release millions of spores; it does not cause any allergic reactions.
