Sky Blue Fruit Tree

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 15 feet (4.6 meters) tall and lives for up to 35 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 54 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a flexible, curved trunk covered in paper-thin, ridged, dark green bark, and inside, the very light wood is mahogany-coloured.

The abundance of branches are very long and thin and are covered with small amounts of miniature, spear shaped leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are sky blue on the edges and amber at the center.

In early spring, it produces copious amounts of giant, light brown blossoms with fan-like petals. They are sturdy and have a strong scent that smells like bonfire smoke.

In mid-summer it produces , broad, flat fruit. The soft pink skin is delicate and inedible, and the soft violet flesh is overwhelmingly bitter and oily. The yellow seeds are large and are located in the centre of the fruit.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.

The colour changes depends on whether the soil is acidic or alkaline.
