Slateleaf Mintflower
Flower type: Biennial (Stores water in its leaves)This massive flower grows up to 8.3 feet (2.5 meters) tall. Its gray-green stem is very thick and straight with a curved tip, and the huge, yellow-green leaves are very thick with serrated edges. The leaves grow in pairs along the length of the stem.
Two small flowers sit at the end of each stem. The flowers are 87 cm (34.3 inches) wide, with each petal a slightly different shade of slate. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 13 petals. They are sturdy.
It has a strong scent that smells like mint, and it has very little pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects , but only one species in particular.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
