Split-Spear Cactus

Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)

This large cactus grows up to 100 feet (30.5 meters) tall. It splits randomly along the body to form 3 spear shaped stems. Each stem is gray-green, and is covered in brittle grey spines.

It is steady-growing, taking 14 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with solid bronze petals decorated with cream dots and a lime central disk, grow at the top, reappearing once every 5 years. The flower head is largely flat with several raised round-tipped petals. It has a scent that varies in strength that smells like onion.

The cactus's skin is thick, the indigo flesh is slimy, and the turquoise sap is thin and causes diarrhea if consumed.

It is almost impossible to grow indoors.
It can grow in even the most barren lands.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
