Waterleaf Tree

This short tree grows up to 3 meters (9.8 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 665 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a knobbly, wavy trunk covered in thin, wrinkled, brown and grey bark, and inside, the very light wood is burgundy-brown.

The small bunches of branches are very long and slender and are covered with large amounts of clammy, large, very narrow and elongated leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are solid dull green with blue streaks.

In early spring, it produces dozens of medium-sized, silver blossoms with shield-shaped petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are sturdy and have a faint scent that smells like freshly washed clothes.

In late summer it forms tiny, bronze seed pods.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
