Golden Spine Cactus
Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)This average-sized cactus grows up to 13 feet (4.0 meters) tall. The stiff, pointed stem is gold and dark brown, and is covered in hundreds of fine, beige, hair-like spines. The tear-shaped body is silver, and is covered in hundreds of flexible brown spines.
It is very slow growing, taking 31 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with peach petals on the lower layer and faded orange petals decorated with lime dots on the inner layer. The central disk is lilac grows at the top, reappearing once every 7 years. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 13 petals. It has an overpowering scent that smells like pine needles.
The cactus's skin is tough, the grey flesh is smooth, and the olive sap is thin and causes severe cramps if consumed.
The sap is edible and overwhelmingly salty.
It aggressively steals nutrients from other large plants (but not each other).
It is suitable for making strong rope
It blooms only at night.
