Magenta

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 16 feet (4.9 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 36 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, angular trunk covered in delicate, knobbly, burgundy and brown bark, and inside, the soft wood is gray.

The branches are short stubs and are covered with sparse amounts of large, pleated leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are peach and lime.

In early spring, it produces a handful of small, magenta blossoms with wide petals. They detach easily and have a weak scent that smells like apple.

In late autumn it produces , slender, 5 pointed fruit. The leathery beige skin is thick and edible when cooked; it is sweet, and the slightly crunchy cyan flesh is bland and juicy. The slate seed is very large and sits at the top of the fruit.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with grassy ground between them.
