Starfire
Flower type: Biennial (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)This modest-sized flower grows up to 1.5 feet (46 cm) tall. Its green stem is wispy and straight with a curved tip, and the large, yellow leaves are very narrow and elongated with wavy edges. The leaves grow from the base and are the same length as the stem.
3 to 5 medium-sized flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 11 cm (4.3 inches) wide, with alternating petals of drab red and yellow, with a brilliant blue central disk. The flower head is shaped like a star with 48 tightly layered, narrow petals. They are hardy.
It has a delicate scent that smells like alcohol, and it has an average amount of pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects , but is also visited by a small species of bird.
It spreads easily and often blanket large areas.
