Pinkleaf Tree

This massive tree grows up to 136 meters (446.2 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 417 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a thick, straight trunk covered in paper-thin, smooth, dark gray bark, and inside, the very light wood is gray.

The branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with handfuls of smooth, large, perforated leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are red on the sides and pink at the center.

In early spring, it produces lots of medium-sized, bold blue blossoms with 3 flame-shaped shaped petals. They are very delicate and have a fairly strong scent that smells like marzipan.

In late summer it forms small, light grey, spiky-shelled seeds.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with grassy ground between them.
