Greyfruit Tree

This small fruit tree grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 25 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 44 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a stocky, straight trunk covered in silky, light brown bark, and inside, the very hard wood is burgundy-brown.

The excessive amount of branches trail down across the ground and are covered with thick bunches of giant, 8 pointed leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are generally grey.

In early spring, it produces many balls of giant, cyan blossoms with stiff, pointed petals. They fall easily and have an overpowering scent that smells like pepper.

In early autumn it produces tiny, T-shaped fruit. The fuzzy grey skin is tough and inedible, and the slightly crunchy red flesh is sweet and sour and syrupy. The black seed is very large and sits at the top of the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with grassy ground between them.
