Redstem

This big cactus grows up to 104 feet (31.7 meters) tall. The wide stem is bold red, and is covered in handfuls of rigid gentle blue spines.

It is steady-growing, taking 21 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with petals that are white on the edges and lilac at the center, grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 38 curved petals. It has a mildly strong scent that smells like sugar.

The cactus's skin is nearly impenetrable, the brown flesh is soft, and the brown sap is thin.
