Copper Tree

This small tree grows up to 3 meters (9.8 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 59 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a thick, wonky trunk covered in delicate, smooth, brown-green bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is pine-coloured.

The branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with large amounts of sticky, tiny, wide leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are copper and bold red.

In late summer it forms giant, dark brown aril (seeds with fleshy covers).

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
