Greytwig

Shrub type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This colossal shrub grows up to 15 feet (4.6 meters) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 109 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has many branched, twisting stems covered in rough, light gray bark, and the wood inside is yellow.

The branches are long and thin that and are covered with thick bunches of tiny, long, narrow, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are gentle blue and white, frail and smooth.

In early spring it produces hundreds of medium-sized, brown blossoms with 8 circular shaped petals. They are sturdy and have a soft scent that smells like sugar.

In late autumn asymmetrical fruits ripen. The smooth pink skin is stretchy and inedible, and the very soft grey flesh is bitter and powdery. The green seeds are large and are bunched at the bottom of the fruit.

It absorbs an exceptionally large amount of water each day.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
It aggressively steals nutrients from other large plants (but not each other).
