Climbing plant type: Bine (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This average-sized bine is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 36 feet (11.0 meters) and growing as high as 161 feet (49.1 meters).

It takes 16 months for the burgundy stems to mature, by which point they sometimes have a diameter of 5 inches (13 cm) and are flat and wavy.

The asymmetrical, clammy leaves reach up to 1.7 feet (51 cm) in length. They are found in sky blue and orange varieties, and have irregular edges.

During late spring, the bine produces copious amounts of average light yellow flowers.


It has impressive regenerative properties.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
The sap is edible and slightly sour.
