Burgundy Grass

Grass type: Perennial (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This modest-sized, burgundy grass grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall. The very thin stalks grow in small clumps that are flimsy and they overwhelm an area rapidly.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a giant, copper spikelet.

During the early winter, it produces a fair amount of pollen; it does not cause any allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with copious amounts of medium-sized grains.

It is suitable for making strong rope
The sap causes severe allergic reactions.
