Yellowfire Succulent

This small caudiciform grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall. The pleated stem is yellow, and is covered in brittle silver spines. The straight, orange trunk can grow to as much as 2 feet (61.0 cm) in diameter in the middle. Its crimson and dark grey branches are long and slender and start growing three quarters of the way up the stem.

The large amounts of wavy-edged, stiff, pointed leaves are yellow and aquamarine. They are sturdy, and take some effort to detach.

It is slow growing, taking 6 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with petals that are grey at the sides and copper at the center, grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is shaped like a sphere made up of many widely spaced, narrow petals. It has a soft scent that smells like new carpet.

The caudiciform's skin is very thick, the grey flesh is waxy, and the cream sap is thin.
