Crimson Succulent

Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)

This modest-sized leaf succulent grows up to 36 feet (11.0 meters) tall. The tapering stem is moss green, and is covered in thick bunches of fine, green, hair-like spines. The pebble-like leaves are found in amber and crimson varieties. Thick bunches of them grow on bulbous, emerald branches that are long and thin. The leaves are durable, but take little effort to detach.

It is slow growing, taking 17 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, several flowers with intense blue petals and a yellow center grow at the top, reappearing after 8 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 30 petals. It has a delicate scent that smells like fermented fruit.

The leaf succulent's skin is thin, the indigo flesh is smooth, and the bronze sap is thin and has hallucinogenic properties.

It can flourish even in standing water.
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
The pollen is slightly toxic to people but not to certain animals.
