Orange Climber

This large bine is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 444 feet (135.3 meters) and growing as high as 105 feet (32.0 meters).

It takes 5 years for the green stems to mature, by which point they have often fused together into ropes with a diameter of 1.3 feet (38 cm) and are smooth and rubbery.

The perforated, leathery leaves reach up to 8 inches (20 cm) in length. They are a shade of orange that gradient shifts to slate at the top, and have jagged edges.

During late spring, the bine produces a thick sheet of small purple flowers.
