Orange Rose Succulent

Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)

This short leaf succulent grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall. The thin stem is lilac, and is covered in sharp spines. The serrated-edged, long, tapering leaves are solid pastel orange with crimson splotches. Very large amounts of them grow from the base like rose petals. The leaves are light, and are very difficult to pull away.

It is very slow growing, taking 40 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with petals that are cyan at the sides and florescent blue at the center, grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is largely flat with 52 raised narrow petals. It has an overpowering scent that smells like rainy days.

The leaf succulent's skin is thick, the cream flesh is smooth, and the hazel sap is thin.

It commonly grows in large patches.
